Unesco World Heritage Regensburg - Visitor Center and Old Town Highlights
Regensburg has been an exclusive "UNESCO World Heritage Site of Humanity" since 2006. What it is all about, why the city got the title, what belongs to it and what doesn't, what consequences result from the title: Such and similar questions are answered in the "World Heritage Visitor Center", where display boards, models and interactive stations, enriched with authentic exhibition objects offer a good overview. Afterwards, theory is followed by practice: we will guide you to the most important highlights in the old town, which are located in the immediate vicinity.

Past + Present = Future
Anyone who wants to get to know the "Regensburg World Heritage Site" as a whole will need a bit of time. After all, everything has been preserved in the old town with its nearly one thousand architectural monuments from two thousand years: the fortifications of the Romans; the residences of dukes, kings and emperors; houses and towers of wealthy patricians; churches and monasteries of the episcopal city; Protestant houses of worship and institutions; evidence of Judaism; the town hall with the "Perpetual Diet". But the way - partly off the usual sightseeing routes - is worthwhile! It leads to places where it becomes clear how Regensburgers in the present deal with their heritage from the past so that it is preserved for the future.
