The House of Bavarian History

It was one of the most spectacular museum openings of the last decade in Germany: The House of Bavarian History in Regensburg is located directly on the Danube and is one of the most modern museum buildings in Europe.

From the very beginning, the House of Bavarian History was a terrific success. The number of visitors exceeded all expectations. Guests are welcomed in the foyer with a multivisual panorama show. The cabaret artist and actor Christoph Süß leads cinematically in 40 roles with a wink and a lot of humor through 2,000 years of Bavarian history - from the Romans to the beginning of the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1806. For that alone, the visit is worthwhile.

But that is only the beginning. An escalator leads from the foyer up to the permanent exhibition. It has nothing at all in common with dusty museum education.

Here you can experience historical theater and fantastic productions on 30 stages with around 1,000 exhibits and numerous multimedia installations on around 2,500 square meters. In addition, the impressive museum has a special exhibition area of 1,000 square meters on the first floor. With a museum store and its own Bavarian pub, it convinces all along the line.
